No Super Eagles Player Tested Positive To Covid-19 - Eagles spokesman

As news of possible coronavirus positive results on four Super Eagles’ players ahead of their Friday friendly match filtered into cyberspace, media officer of the team, Toyin Ibitoye has denied the reports.

The initial report was that four Nigerian players had tested positive to the virus that had affected virtually every human activity worldwide.

As part of the protocol for the match in Austria, players of both Nigeria and Algeria were to undergo coronavirus test this Thursday.

But a report had it that Nigeria’s coach, Gernot Rohr announced that four of his players had tested positive and may not be available for the match.

Ibitoye however through different whatsapp platforms announced that the reports should be discountenanced.

He wrote:”Please discountenance any reports that some of our players tested positive to Covid 19 ahead of tomorrow’s friendly game against Algeria.

“It is blatant falsehood. The writer of the story misunderstood what Coach Gernot Rohr said at the virtual press conference held a few moments ago that since the outbreak of the pandemic, four our players had tested positive, but were all now fully recovered from the virus and back in action.
