Nigerian singer Simi is not in support of President Muhammadu Buhari’s promise to reform Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
The special unit of Nigeria police has been under-fire in recent weeks with Nigerians protesting against them. They have been accused of many things including kidnapping and murdering innocent youths.
The protesters want SARS scrapped, but the president is confident of reform is the best option. Simi has joined the protesters and wants SARS ended with immediate effect.
Simi quoted Buhari’s tweet about being briefed about the ongoing reforms and wrote:
“#EndSars We don’t want reform!!! You tried that and it didn’t work. End it!!! And while you’re at it #EndCorruption #EndImpunity #EndSuffering Nigerian lives are not dispensable. Enough is enough.”
